Description
A turn-of-the-century scene entitled Penn Street. The scene is a classic high Victorian home located on the old "Silk Stocking" section of Fort Worth, Texas. It is an extremely elaborate dwelling featuring copper roofs and ornamental spires, slate shingles, brick and carved red sandstone. A Victorian-era lady is pushing a wicker baby carriage toward an approaching paperboy on bicycle. Viewers will note the cast-iron hitching posts, ornate wrought iron chimney supports, and horse and buggy. This home actually exists today and is in fine condition (despite being within 2 blocks of the 2000 tornado that devastated downtown Fort Worth!) As with all his work, you'll want to look for the artists' trademark kitty cat. Matted ready to instantly fit into standard sized 8x10 inch frame.
